PARAISO MIAMI SWIM WEEK TURNS UP THE HEAT WITH TECH, TALENT, AND TRENDSETTING.

As the temperature climbs in Miami Beach, so does the buzz around Paraiso Miami Swim Week. What began as a scattering of trade shows has evolved into the ultimate summer fashion festival, now attracting more than 30,000 industry insiders, tastemakers and swimwear aficionados to the city for a week filled with fashion shows, parties and high-wattage personalities.

Leading that transformation is Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, who once again has her finger on the pulse of what’s next. Her latest move? Launching the Swimwear Icons Hall of Fame (SIHOF), complete with a red-carpet induction ceremony at The Bass Museum on May 28. It’s classic Stojanovic—bridging style and substance by honoring industry legends while raising awareness for skin cancer prevention and sun safety.

How does she manage to keep things exciting year after year? “Experience, strong industry connections and a clear vision,” she says. Paraiso isn’t just another series of runway shows—it’s a hub where the entire swimwear ecosystem gathers. Think: buyers, emerging designers, trendsetters, media, and global brands all sharing one sun-soaked stage.

When asked who’s generating the most buzz, Stojanovic doesn’t hesitate. “Leslie Amon,” she says, recalling how buyers descended after the designer’s debut last year. She’s also championing Oceanus, which went from initial Vogue samples to a Paraiso runway debut this year. Industry staple Shan is back, marking its 40th anniversary, and the perennial favorites—Luli Fama, Maaji and Azulu—are locked in as must-sees.

Paraiso sets itself apart with its purpose-driven mission. While other fashion weeks lean into spectacle, this one is about impact. Its runways spark orders, dictate trends and solidify brand reputations. That mission was recently
reinforced in court, where Paraiso was legally recognized as the official holder of the Miami Swim Week trademark.

The destination certainly helps. “Miami Beach is the perfect playground for swimwear,” Stojanovic says. The city’s position as a global hub draws designers from Colombia, Brazil, Nigeria, Italy, Australia and beyond, creating a mashup of influences that make each show uniquely electric.

Technology is expected to play a major role this season, though Stojanovic keeps the details under wraps. “You’ll have to come see for yourself,” she teases, hinting at collaborations that aim to reimagine the event experience entirely.

Inclusivity continues to be a pillar. Paraiso’s runways are known for celebrating a range of body types, offering a powerful counter-narrative to the tired tropes of fashion’s
past. It’s a decision that not only feels modern—it resonates with real-world consumers. Sustainability is also in focus. This year, Paraiso partners with students at Istituto Marangoni Miami to create runwayready looks using deadstock materials. It’s part of a broader push toward mindful design and ethical production.

Looking ahead, Stojanovic is setting her sights on legacy. Plans are underway to establish a permanent museum celebrating swimwear’s cultural relevance and enduring
style—a fitting tribute from a woman who has redefined what fashion week can be.

Paraiso Miami Swim Week runs from May 29 through June 1.
