FROM BIOHACKERS TO BEAUTY INSIDERS, NAD+ SUPPLEMENTS AND INJECTIONS ARE FUELING A NEW ERA OF CELLULAR REJUVENATION AND AGE-DEFYING VITALITY.
Celebrities like the Kardashians to Hailey Bieber swear by NAD+, making it the latest buzzword among health enthusiasts and longevity seekers. But what exactly is this miracle molecule, and does it live up to the hype?

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is an essential coenzyme present in every cell of your body. According to Dr. Martin G. Bloom, co-founder and chief medical officer of Biostation, it plays a vital role in energy production, DNA repair, and cellular transformation. “It improves metabolism, positively affects the body’s circadian rhythm, and enhances brain function,” explains Dr. Bloom. “It’s even being studied for its potential to slow down diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.”

The catch? As we age, our NAD+ levels naturally decline, triggering many age-related conditions. This depletion leads to decreased cellular energy, chronic inflammation and compromised immune function—essentially, the hallmarks of aging that we all dread.

Enter NAD+ therapy, a treatment gaining traction among those seeking to turn back their biological clocks. Pam Weinberger, founder of Jeune Aesthetics in Miami, offers NAD+ in the form of subcutaneous injections. “I personally think this is the best way to do it,” Weinberger shares. “NAD+ IVs take up to seven hours to complete, and I hate to say it, but I don’t think the pills are effective.”

At Jeune Aesthetics, each injection costs $75, or clients can opt for a monthly membership at $400. “One shot isn’t going to do the trick,” Weinberger advises, suggesting consistent treatments for optimal results.

The benefits extend beyond just looking younger. “NAD+ is like a reset button for your cells,” Weinberger explains. “What I’ve been hearing from clients is they feel more energetic, they sleep better, get sick less, their workouts are more productive, and they simply think they’re looking better.”

Dr. Bloom recommends NAD+ therapy particularly for adults over 40, athletes seeking enhanced recovery, those suffering from chronic fatigue and patients with neurodegenerative conditions or metabolic disorders. For best results, he suggests one to three infusions a week for two to four weeks as a loading dose, followed by monthly maintenance.

While NAD+ therapy sounds promising, it’s not without potential side effects. Dr. Bloom cautions that high doses can cause nausea, bloating and diarrhea, especially when administered too quickly. Additionally, those with kidney or liver diseases, autoimmune disorders, active cancer, low blood pressure or heart conditions should proceed with caution and consult their healthcare providers.

For those not ready to commit to injections or IVs, there are supplements like Happy Aging drinkable NAD+ and other natural ways to boost NAD+ levels. Exercise, intermittent fasting, cold exposure and consuming foods rich in niacin can help maintain healthy levels in the body.

Is NAD+ truly the fountain of youth? Weinberger believes it comes close. “Let’s just say, if there were a modern-day fountain of youth, NAD+ would be in it. It makes sense why it’s so amazing—it’s quite literally science.”
