A FAIR to
Remember

By Jenny Starr Perez

This year’s Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary brings together blue-chip masters, rising stars, and collectors in search of the next big thing.

The Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary (PBM+C) art fair, presented by Art Miami, returns for its eighth edition this week, drawing the art world’s most discerning collectors, curators, and enthusiasts to the Palm Beach County Convention Center. From March 20 to 23, 2025, this annual affair promises an expertly curated selection of investment-quality works spanning the 20th and 21st centuries, all against the backdrop of Palm Beach’s storied elegance.

This year’s fair welcomes 70 premier international galleries representing artists from across 18 countries, including the United States, Spain, France, and Switzerland. As always, PBM+C offers a mix of blue-chip luminaries and compelling contemporary voices, providing collectors with the rare opportunity to acquire works from the likes of Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Keith Haring, Helen Frankenthaler, and Alex Katz. Among the must-see exhibitors is Robert Strati, whose intricate explorations of structure elevate the conversation between art and design.

“I am excited to be showing this new “Sailing Ships” series at the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary,” says Strati. “With the sophisticated mix of collectors and art enthusiasts, the fair is a true celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and expression in a way that is timeless and fresh. Additionally, it is a perfect fit for this series because it is so close to the ocean.”

The weekend kicks off with an exclusive VIP Preview benefiting the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, setting the tone for days of art-driven discourse and acquisition. Holden Luntz Gallery’s entryway exhibition of David Yarrow’s photography commands attention, offering evocative imagery that blends cinematic storytelling with wildlife conservation. Meanwhile, Long-Sharp Gallery’s presentation, “The Line,” examines the evolution of form through works by Roy Lichtenstein, Pablo Picasso, and Tarik Currimbhoy, among others.

Beyond the convention center, PBM+C extends its reach to Palm Beach’s cultural landmarks. Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens will showcase a solo exhibition by Jane Manus, known for her bold geometric sculptures, while Sponder Gallery unveils a special Alex Katz presentation, “Portraits and Landscapes Through The Season.” The dialogue continues at Lighthouse ArtCenter, where multidisciplinary artist Tyler K. Smith takes center stage in an artist talk moderated by critic Bruce Helander.

Collectors with an eye for the avant-garde will find intrigue at Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design, which debuts a generative digital artwork by David Dessens alongside a ceremonially blessed ceramic work by Boris van Berkum. Meanwhile, Contessa Gallery’s selection confronts climate change through the lens of post-conceptual artist Rob Pruitt, proving that contemporary art remains a force for both aesthetic innovation and social commentary.

The fair also aligns with the Palm Beach International Boat Show, offering PBM+C VIPs complimentary access to one of the season’s other premier events. And for those navigating between exhibitions, the convenience of onsite amenities—including a VIP lounge and a café—ensures a seamless experience.

As the art market continues to evolve, PBM+C maintains its position as a vital nexus where history, innovation, and investment intersect. With a dynamic lineup of artists, galleries, and thought-provoking discussions, this year’s edition reaffirms that Palm Beach isn’t just a destination—it’s a canvas for the world’s most compelling contemporary works.
